The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has officially released the 2024 Form Two National Assessment (FTNA) results, which reflect a commendable performance by students across the country. Conducted in October and November 2024, the exams saw 680,574 out of 796,825 candidates pass, achieving a success rate of 85.41%. These students, who scored in grades I, II, III, and IV, are now eligible to progress to Form Three.
Performance Overview
While announcing the results in Dar es Salaam on January 4, 2025, NECTA Executive Secretary Dr. Said Mohamed noted an increase in the pass rate compared to the previous year. He stated, “In 2023, 592,741 students passed, equivalent to 85.31%. This year’s pass rate has risen slightly by 0.10%.”
Breaking down the results by gender, 367,457 girls (83.99%) and 313,117 boys (87.13%) qualified for Form Three, with boys outperforming girls in this year’s assessments.
